Welcome to Bristol Ariel Rowing Club

A friendly, inclusive rowing club welcoming all abilities. We offer Learn to Row courses for beginners and Go Row indoor classes for those who prefer land-based fitness. Our members range from competitive racers to recreational rowers, and our fleet supports everyone from novices to elite athletes.

About the Club

Founded in 1870, Bristol’s oldest rowing club sits in St Anne’s on a peaceful stretch of the River Avon between Netham and Hanham locks. Moments from the city, yet wrapped in greenery and wildlife, it’s a place to train, escape, and belong.

Go Row Indoor

Indoor rowing is a low-impact activity that burns more calories minute-for-minute than almost any other exercise. A fun way to get fit, stay healthy and meet new people.

Become a member

We are keen to welcome new members to the club. We charge membership fees to enable us to provide the facilities and equipment for rowing. We believe that financial hardship should not be a barrier to participation, and offer concessions and the ability to pay monthly instalments.
